200 Years Passion for Nature and Research

June 2017 – February 2018
Special Anniversary Exhibition, Senckenberg Nature Museum Frankfurt

Whether a popular destination for an outing, an important employer or a global leader in research – for 200 years, Senckenberg has shaped life in Frankfurt.

Founded by citizens of Frankfurt in 1817, the society studies the biological diversity and imparts its newfound knowledge to the broad public, in particular through its nature museums. In the anniversary year of 2017, a specially designed exhibition presents the highlights of Senckenberg’s history from the research perspective.

The exhibition was developed in conjunction with the Institute for City History Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Historical Museum.
